We wanted to make a modern, generational comedy in that way. with them, all of a sudden it opened up to me in a completely different way because you’re like, “Wow, there is more to Dylan than I thought.” When I read the movie, I looked at all he is subconsciously dealing with: He is dealing with his father, who is his hero, who is suffering from early-onset Alzheimer’s Disease.
